Reflex means backflow of contents of stomach into the foodpipe. Due to lax valve (poorly functioning valve)
between the foodpipe and the stomach patient complains of acid or taste of food or particles of food returning
into the chest or mouth.
Due to exposure of the foodpipe to acid, patient
experiences, burning sensation in the chest, which is aggravated by chilies and spices.
